This Bluebird brooch owned by Madame Secretary of State Madeleine Albright was made by Anton Lachmann. She wore her pins as diplomatic tools during state proceedings; this brooch was worn with the head looking down on her lapel, in mourning for the free spirited Cuban American fliers to show her anger at the loss of lives. I was lucky enough to have documented many of Mme Albright’s collection of pins. ~ kct
